Southampton line up PSG midfielder Yohan Cabaye as Morgan Schneiderlin replacement

Southampton are reportedly targeting a move for Paris Saint-German midfielder Yohan Cabaye to replace Morgan Schneiderlin, who is closing in on a move to Manchester United.
According to the Mirror, the Saints have identified the unhappy French midfielder to replace his compatriot. Ronald Koeman is keen to bring in a quality replacement as they aim to better last season's eighth place finish in the Premier League.
Schneiderlin is on the verge of sealing his dream move to Old Trafford in the coming days, and Cabaye is on top of the list of replacements eyed by the Saints, with Feyenoord midfielder Jordy Clasie and Lille's Idrissa Gueye also on the club's radar.
The French international [Cabaye] has made his intentions clear after struggling to nail down a regular place under Laurent Blanc, with Marco Verratti and Blaise Matuidi ahead of him in the pecking order. He had admitted during the previous campaign that he will discuss his future with the club in the summer.
Arsenal have been long time admirers of the former Newcastle United midfielder and even tried to sign him before PSG made a big money move to take him to Paris.
According to the Mirror, Arsene Wenger is back on the trail of the midfielder, but apart from the Gunners, the Saints will also face competition from rivals West Ham United and Crystal Palace, who are hoping that the lure of London will persuade him to ignore the south coast club.
Southampton are in danger of losing more stars this summer, as apart from Schneiderlin, right-back Nathaniel Clyne is also reportedly on the verge of sealing a deal with Liverpool in the coming days, according to ESPN.

The Czech Republic international and 20-year-old Dutchman will be entrusted to Middlesbrough and Aitor Karanka next season

Chelsea have agreed to send defenders Tomas Kalas and Nathan Ake on loan to Middlesbrough next season, Goal understands.

Czech Republic international Kalas impressed in 17 Championship appearances during a temporary spell at the Riverside Stadium last season, even as Aitor Karanka's men fell short against Norwich City in the play-off final at Wembley.

Ake, meanwhile, acquitted himself well for Reading in a brief stint last term, making five appearances in April to help the Royals maintain their Championship status.

Both are well down the first-team pecking order at Stamford Bridge but Chelsea's decision to loan them to Middlesbrough is further evidence of the close relationship between Jose Mourinho and Karanka, his assistant at Real Madrid.

Last season Boro enjoyed the services of Kalas as well as fellow Blues youngsters Patrick Bamford and Kenneth Omeruo.

The Spaniard signed a five-year contract with the Bianconeri last summer but Los Blancos retain the right to buy the forward back in 2016 or 2017

Juventus risk losing Alvaro Morata to Real Madrid if they do not renegotiate the terms of his contract, according to the lawyer who helped take the forward to Turin.
The Spain international joined the Italian champions from Los Blancos for €20 million last summer, penning a five-year contract with the Old Lady.
However, Madrid retained the right to buy Morata back, for €30m in 2016 or €35m in 2017.
With Morata having enjoyed a stellar debut season in Italy, helping Juve record a domestic double, as well as firing them to the final of the Champions League, it is being reported that Madrid are considering bringing the 22-year-old back to the Santiago Bernabeu.
As a result, lawyer Giuseppe Bozzo, who worked on Morata's transfer to Juve, feels that the Bianconeri must act quickly if they are to hold onto the forward.
"It was my job to bring him to Turin, while his father worked out the details of the contract," he toldTuttosport.
“Having become Alvaro’s friend, I can say his desire could well be to stay at Juventus long-term, as he is convinced that they can win the Champions League.
“It’s a complex situation. In my view the next step should be renegotiating the clause with Real Madrid. It is written and can be exercised.
“What the player wants will also have an influence, along with what Madrid want to do with him, but if Juventus want to focus on Alvaro for the next eight to 10 years they must get out of this clause cul de sac.
"It’s also important to note that obviously his transfer value has already gone far above the €35m in the clause."
Morata netted five times in 11 Champions League appearances last season, with two of his goals coming against former club Madrid in the semi-finals.

Tactical Analysis: Should David Moyes utilize a ‘false nine’ with Manchester United?

jones
Sitting up to watch the UCL final group game between Man Utd and Shakhtar, I couldn’t help but realize the immediate problem facing the current tactical system employed by David Moyes. Choosing to give importance to fast, counterattacking football with a high level of intensity, the Manager has sacrificed the hallmark of all great United sides: Ball retention. One minute we would have Shakhtar attacking the United goal and within some 20 seconds the ball would be in the hands of the Shakhtar goalie.

“What are your comments on the change of philosophy you have constructed at Barcelona?”
Tata blinks for a few seconds at the interviewer, before recollecting the words he will state for what must seem like the thousandth time. The former Paraguay coach seems agitated as he splutters out the answer to a question he has heard too often since arriving at the huge club.
