Super Eagles legend Jay-Jay Okocha has congratulated Nigeria Footballer of the Year winner Victor Moses.
Moses is based in England where he turns out for Liverpool, having joined the Anfield outfit on a season-long loan from Chelsea.
The 22-year-old represented England at youth level, but switched
allegiance last year and went on to play a key role in Nigeria's race
to
the African Cup of Nations title in South Africa.
Okocha applauded the Liverpool winger for his performances in the famous green and white.
"I totally agree with the voters who picked Moses for the award," the former Nigeria maestro was quoted as saying by Afrikan Soccer.
"This was a young man many thought would not cope with African
football, but he came in and blended seamlessly to help Nigeria win the
Africa Cup of Nations."
He added that it was unfortunate that such awards were not held during his playing days.
"I am upset by the organisers," he joked. "Why did they not come when we were playing?"
